    In the 1970s, the tiny town of Earlton, Ontario be In the 1970s, the tiny town of Earlton, Ontario became a surprising hub of Canadian RV innovation. After a highway bypass threatened the town’s future, a group of 27 local farmers and businessmen came together to form the Earlton Development Corporation — investing $3,000 of their own money to revitalize the community. In 1971, under the leadership of Laurent Bélanger, the group launched Earlton Manufacturing Co., acquiring the Boler franchise for Eastern Canada and the U.S. Over the next decade, they built more than 2,300 Boler trailers, shipping through 51 dealers across Canada and the eastern U.S. Nicknamed the “egg on wheels,” the Boler was lightweight, molded, and unmistakably Canadian — a design that would go on to inspire RVs for decades. Earlton Manufacturing eventually closed in 1982 due to soaring interest rates and a slumping RV market — but its impact on the RV industry and its town lives on today. 🎉 A true story of Canadian grit, community pride, and the spirit of the RV lifestyle!
