Should you hit the road in an RV in retirement?
People 55 and older make up the majority of RV buyers, says Shane Devenish, president of the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association based in Burlington, Ont.
While the upfront cost of an RV varies depending on its size and amenities, Mr. Devenish argues that it can still be relatively affordable and often more enjoyable than other types of travel when you consider the rising cost of airfare, hotels and restaurants.
“I think more people are getting a little tired of going through airports, dealing with the delays and cancellations,” he says. “With an RV, the ability to go when you want and where you want without having to sit around and wait is very alluring to people who just want to enjoy life.”
